James Monroe Classroom Adoption
building relationships between local businesses and classroom communities
Our Classroom Adoption Program at James Monroe Elementary pairs classrooms with local businesses, church groups, or college student clubs. Our desire is to build relationships between the school and the local community, as well as provide teachers with support and fellowship.
We match each adoptive entity with a particular classroom at the school. The adoptive group might come read aloud to the class, provide back-to-school supplies, throw a mid-year pizza party, sponsor a field trip, or mentor students. We encourage creativity in the activities! These relationships make a big difference in classroom dynamics, give the kids something to look forward to and motivate them, support and encourage teachers, and enrich the lives of the adoptive partner participants.
